How we estimate each Employee network’s valueOur per-Employee methodology and assumptions.Show detailsHide details
This is the methodology behind the value assigned to each Employee’s network. We estimate the impressions created by completed posts, compare that exposure with advertising costs on the same platforms, and then apply the Employees you select.
For planning purposes, this calculator assumes each completed platform post generates 10 impressions for every 100 followers. This is a modeling assumption, not a verified cross-platform average or guaranteed minimum.
per completed post
From an Employee’s audience to an annual value
Start with network sizes
Use the briefing’s personal-account references for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok. The worked scenario assumes one eligible account on each platform.
Model completed sharing
104 content opportunities × 75% completion = 78 posts per platform per year. Completion describes publishing—not the share of company headcount that participates.
Estimate displays
For each platform: followers × 78 completed posts × 10%. Add the results once. The base scenario creates approximately 40,469 annual impressions per Employee.
Compare with advertising
For each platform: impressions ÷ 1,000 × CPM. CPM is the advertising cost of 1,000 displays. The calculator’s annual base is $701.70 per CoPilot Employee, before platform investment.
The references used in the base estimate
| Platform | Audience reference | Annual impressions* | Reference CPM |
|---|---|---|---|
| 302 connections | 2,357 | $63.19 | |
| 605 connections | 4,717 | $23.42 | |
| 2,861 followers | 22,319 | $18.25 | |
| X | 1,384 followers | 10,795 | $3.11 |
| TikTok | 36 followers | 281 | $4.82 |
*Impressions are displays, not unique people. Follower and impression figures are rounded to the nearest whole number for display; calculations retain the original precision. The $701.70 base estimate and reference CPMs retain cents. Audience references are from 2023 U.S. samples (means for four platforms; a median for TikTok). The advertising references span different dates, audiences and country mixes; X is a 2023 reference. They are not a uniform set of current U.S. ad prices. Use actual account analytics and matched campaign costs when available.
Our annual planning estimate
We estimate $701.70 in annual network value per Employee, using the research references and stated publishing assumptions laid out in our Employee Network Value executive briefing. This is the calculator’s CoPilot base, before platform investment.
The estimate is a modeled paid-exposure comparison—not guaranteed revenue or cash savings.
How AutoPilot is treated
We apply a 1.25× posting-output assumption to metrics and value for Employees using AutoPilot, giving an annual estimate of $877.13 per AutoPilot Employee. This assumes 25% more posting output than the CoPilot base through a combination of automatic and guided sharing.
The factor is a separate PostAutoPilot planning assumption—not a measured uplift or a literal completion percentage. No extra platform multiplier is added. Count Employees using both modes once under AutoPilot.
Trust is not an extra multiplier
The briefing also examines why a familiar, credible source can affect response. That research does not establish a universal Employee-post advantage. We do not increase impressions, CPMs or estimated value for trust. The 1.25× AutoPilot factor is a separate posting-output assumption, not a trust premium.
How your selected Employees change the results
Distribution weight = (1.25 × AutoPilot Employees) + CoPilot Employees
Estimated annual impressions = base annual impressions × distribution weight (rounded for display)
Estimated annual value = $701.70 × distribution weight
Projected annual net value = the greater of $0 or annual value minus consolidated platform investment
The Activities tile retains 104 weighted content-opportunity equivalents per base Employee; it is not a completed-post count. Interactions (108 per base Employee annually) and clicks (24) remain separate planning inputs. They are not derived from the briefing’s CPM calculation and are not added as extra monetary value.
All figures assume a full year, suitable content and a relevant U.S. audience. Network overlap creates repeat impressions, not additional unique people. The model excludes ramp-up, attrition, existing activity that would happen anyway, taxes, staff time, content production and other program costs. Corporate accounts should be valued separately using actual followers and analytics. Monthly averages divide annual results by 12; a $0 result may reflect a shortfall, not break-even.
